| But What About Us? |
![]() What About Us? In 2006, following the Circuit Court’s decision in late 2005 that found elementary, middle and high schools in the plaintiff districts to meet “minimally adequate standards,” an effort was made to encourage student participation in educating the public of the conditions in South Carolina schools. More than 250 students from elementary, middle and high schools in the plaintiff districts captured a combined 2,600 photographs for the project. The final exhibit, featuring 60 photos accompanied by brief comments from each student photographer, has since toured the state. Tracing the path of the documentary to college campuses, high schools, churches and community centers throughout South Carolina, the exhibit has generated its own local, national and international media coverage.
